Biggassed Loser Workout

It was darn cold this week and I couldn't bring myself to run outside and I HATE the treadmill so yesterday I did the biggest loser Boot Camp DVD. Finished it this time so it was 55 minutes. I'm a little sore this morning. Those workouts kick heinie.

oops catching up

I've been terrible about logging workouts this past week. Okay

Sunday- a short mountain bike ride at CAMP, about 8 miles.
Monday- some hole diggin in my yard
Wednesday- indoor climbing gym but most of my workout came from belaying two 12 year old girls.
Friday- 4 mile run
Saturday- power shopping (ha)
Sunday- 17 miles of mountain biking. Now THAT's worthy of mentioning as a ride.

Fun Friday

I tested out the 2nd Biggest Loser workout DVD today. All I can say is, if these are the kinds of workouts they do on the Ranch-the show doesn't cover the half of it and no wonder these people can lose double digit lbs in a week. Once again, I only finished workout sections 1 and 2 (20 and 15 min respectively) with a 5 min warm/cool on each end. My arms are noodles and my legs won't obey the signals from my brain. I was soaked, sweat was dripping onto the floor.

Man-I wasn't sure about Bob's workouts but he kicked my tail

Warrior Pose

THIS ^ is not warrior post but I will never think of Warrior Pose as a nice stretch, ever ever again.

Last week I bought 2 DVD's from the Biggest Loser folks. One is a boot camp workout with Bob. I also bought Bob's Yoga weightloss DVD. I thought...it's yoga, it will feel good. Oh. No. It has a warm up, 3 workout sections and a cool down to total 55 minutes. It was late and I wanted the small one to do it with me so we were going to leave out the last workout section (only 10 minutes) Mc quit on me within the first workout section and sat on the couch watching for a while. And laughing now and then. The first workout part had my thighs burning, legs shaking and arms on fire. This is NOT your mother's yoga DVD. It's not anywhere near as in your face as Jillians 30 Day Shred workout and I'm not sore today but man I couldn't believe how weak I felt doing that workout. Can't wait to try the boot camp one.

Weekend Warrior

This weekend was FULL. The plan for Sunday was a long mountain bike ride that ended up being a long trail run.
8 miles around Pinnacle Mtn including out and back on the Quarry trail down the Ouachita trail to Pinnacle's Base trail and all the way around and back to the visitor center lot. I tried to run as much as I could. J was feeling the time off from the surgery so I ended up running about 5 miles of intervals so I could stop and make sure he was behind me before I started again. We walked the last 3 miles together as fast as we could go. Man did I sleep good.

Thirsty Thursday

Went out for a run and started off thirsty. Bad idea. Did 4 miles though and tried to push myself whenever I felt like I was settling into an easy pace.

New Year's first workout

On the friggin 6th?? I'm feeling almost normal. Not quite, but close.

1.5 miles on the treadmill, fast walk (3.8 mph) intervals up and down between 3-7% incline
25 fast body weight squats
2 x 10 pushups
2 x 10 x 90lb ea close stance, wide stance and calf presses on the Hip Sled

attempted to do hammer curls on a balance board but could only squeeze out a couple without losing balance- dropped weights and played on the board for a minute then picked the weights up-and decided it was better than the nothing I had been doing, don't push it, and went back to work

No New You

Immediately following the last post on New Year's Eve, I got a nasty stomach bug that has kept me either sick and/or weak myself, or taking care of sick, weak people who got it after me. I thought I'd be over it but it's a rough go.
The only exercise I've gotten so far this year is a few trips running up and down the stairs and blowing into a homemade respirometer/pH meter for the small one's science fair project on CO2 output during exercise. Fun stuff I say, fun stuff. I am going to try to carve out time for a walk today and a workout tonight or tomorrow.
