Easter Weekend fun at White Oak Lake State Park

The Easter Bunny found his way out to the lake early on Saturday and hid eggs in the strangest places. Note the tribute to said bunny in the head gear worn by the egg investigators.

Rockin on the dock

The girls were the first to discover that this dock had great sway. I had to join in.

An evening hike in the woods...native azaleas oh so much prettier than those things we buy at home depot to plant in our front yards. We found a cache along this trail and saw an albino squirrel. At least I think it was an albino. I have never seen a white squirrel before???!!!

Trail Blazin
There was a cache along this trail that we wanted to get at and then we even hit a little bit of single track. Found out that the small one is not a big fan. She needs more saddle time to be ready for trails like that but this section was great.
Friday night I ran 3 miles, mostly singletrack and about a mile like the above pic along the lake. Saturday after we rode with the girls slowly for a few miles, J and I went back out and rode the 9.8 mile Fern Hollow Trail in an 1hr 7min. As usual, I felt like I was just warming up toward the end...the burn was going away and then...we stopped. And ate chili mac. Discovered that ground beef plus velveeta shells and cheese plus a can of zesty chili style tomatoes makes for fantasmic camp dinners.
